Osteomalacia belongs to the metabolic osteopathies and is characterized by a mineralization disorder of the newly formed osteoid. The etiology of the disease is broad and includes congenital and acquired causes. These causes usually lead to a lack of mineralization substrates (calcium, phosphates) or to an impaired mineralization process. The article provides information on the possibilities of drawing social support for patients affected by fatal osteoporotic fractures in the form of benefits from the insurance and noninsurance social security system. At the same time, it draws attention to the fact that an osteoporotic fracture increases the risk of another subsequent osteoporotic fracture by 2-5 times. Thus, if the fracture is not recognized as osteoporotic in time and adequate treatment is not initiated, the patient is exposed to an excessive risk of a subsequent secondary fracture, which leads to an increased health burden for the patient himself and for the health and social systems....
